Apps / Podcasts

I use Pocketcasts for all my podcasts but there are plenty of other apps which you can use.  These are some of my favourite health orientated podcasts which you may find informative and useful (click on the blue text links):

Calm app –  Calm is the #1 app for sleep and meditation. Join the millions (including me) experiencing better sleep, lower stress, and less anxiety.

Move your DNA (Katy Bowman) – Biomechanics, natural movement and alignment discussion, advice & exercises

Broken Brain – ‘Heal your body, heal your brain’ : Interviews with a wide variety of specialists from a number of different healthcare professions 

Websites / apps

Nutritious Movement (Katy Bowman) – Biomechanics, natural movement and alignment discussion, advice & exercises.   The Alignment Matters and Move your DNA books (below) are fantastic books written by Katy Bowman…worth a read.

Newson Health (Dr Louise Newson) – Menopause specialist who provides online consultations.  Louise has also set up the Balance app which you can use to monitor your symptoms.  Both sites have a lot of information about the menopause.  

Chronic / persistent pain websites / apps

Live well with pain (UK wide healthcare professionals) – a five minute video bringing understanding to persistent pain, self-management tools and lots more information about chronic pain including a fantastic booklet (pdf) called Ten Footsteps to Living Well with Pain 

Flippin Pain (UK wide healthcare professionals) – myth busting and clarity on what persistent or chronic painis and how you can help yourself.  Also, there are a lot of resources including a TED talk on how the brain understands pain 

Curable Health (multiple international healthcare professionals) – again, a fabulous resources for those with persistent pain.  The Curable app addresses the challenging topic of pain education and explains information in an easy-to-understand manner. The education is well-backed by science and research.
